Kinda sorts looks like an Aston and Johnston 54 caliber horse pistol. At first they were flintlock then converted to percussion back in the 1840's or about that time frame. Frank

From the inscription and style it appears to be French, with repair to the hammer.

The lockplate appears to say "Maubeuge Manuf(acture) Imp(eriale)". The barrel date of 1813 indicates that it started life as a flintlock and was converted to percussion. The model should be engraved on the tang but I can't read it. I don't think that the hammer is original so Google "French Model 1822 Pistol" and see what comes up.
