Default J.P. Sauer and Sohn/Early Behördenmodell pistol (1913?)

    Hi,

I have recently acquired an item from my brother in law, who passed away recently. I will be selling this pistol on behalf of his widow (along with several other shotguns, rifles, revolvers and pistols). I've searched Google for a good amount of time, and the closest I've been able to come to identifying it is a post here. I'm looking for feedback from folks on this forum as to it's ballpark value, and perhaps references for an expert here in Massachusetts who might be able to better evaluate it's value.

Appearing below are a few pictures of the pistol.

    Thanks,
    Dan

So after closer examination it looks like this does not have the aluminum frame, and it's the 1930 model. I am still, however, interested in it's value.

What you have is indeed a Sauer Behorden. See that sunburst on the left side of the trigger guard? That means it was issued to the Prussian (later Nazi) police. That makes it slightly more valuable than a civilian model. As for value I would guess $600-$700 is the range.
