Finnish Defence Forces has (unofficially) released their collection of thousands of digitised photographs from the late 19th century onwards. The previous service SA-Kuva only consisted of photographs taken circa between 1939 and 1945. However, there are also some wartime photographs in the new database. As there has been no official announcement yet, there might be some problems and changes with the service. Search words only work in Finnish. High-resolution photographs can be downloaded. According to the Finnish terms of use, the photographs may be used free of charge but not manipulated other than sharpening, cropping etc.

Some picks:

1) 101-85: 7.62 TAK 85

2) 2954-83: Smith & Wesson 37mm Gas Gun

3) 912-83: Using Lahti L-39 (S/N 780) during exercise in 1983.

4) F2017001p69: "Old Boys" Civil Guard Guardsman

5) F65p100: Lammi's first Civil Guard in 1918.
