    Default Maps ?

Last year my son help auction a Veterans estate and was given several maps that he in turn gave to me. I am interested to know if they are original or souvenirs.Click image for larger version.

ID:	3729115I don't plan to part with them either way but deciding how much to invest in framing them. The first photo is a closet up of a section of the second photo. Thanks, John.

ID:	3729145 The Russian maps have Russian to German translations and the Lybyan map has Arabic to German translation. Also the legends are in German

I've turned the images around and hopefully made them a bit easier to read.

From my limited German I did notice that they are "special edition" maps and hopefully someone will explain why. Sonderausgabe = Special edition. I just noticed the first part of the word and knew that it implied something special.

Sonderausgabe, Nicht für die Öffentlichkeit bestimmt = special edition, not for public usage. Probably because it depicts map details of confidential military interest.
